Top Mocktail Recipes
Virgin Mojito (makes 1 glass)
First up on our list of top mocktail recipes is a non-alcoholic version of my very favorite cocktail; the mojito.
You will need…
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 4 large mint leaves
- juice of 1 lime
- soda water
- Crushed ice
Method…
- Crush together the sugar and mint leaves in the bottom of your glass (I use the handle of a rolling-pin)
- Add a handful of crushed ice into the glass and add the lime juice.
- Top up with soda water and mix well.
- Serve with a straw and a slice of lime.
Virgin Mary (makes 1 glass)
If you are a big fan of Bloody Marys then this top mocktail recipe will be a perfect alternative.
You will need…
- Handful of cucumber chucks
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup of tomato juice
- 1 tsp of lemon juice
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Dashes hot sauce to taste
- Celery sticks and cucumber slices for garnish, optional
Method
- Place cucumber and salt in a food processor and puree for about two minutes, until smooth.
- Transfer mixture into your glass through a fine mesh strainer and let it stand until all the liquid has drained; discard solids and reserve the juice.
- Add the tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice and mix well.
- Flavour with hot sauce to taste and serve with a stick of celery and slice of cucumber.
Spiced Ice Tea (makes a 1 litre pitcher)
You will need…
- 2 lipton ice tea bags
- 3tsp granulated sweetener
- 6 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 600ml boiling water
- 300ml pomegranate juice
- Ice cubes
- Cinnamon sticks and apple slices to garnish
Method
- Place the teabags, sweetener, cloves and cinnamon stick into a large heat-proof jug and pour over the boiling water.
- Leave to infuse until cold and stain into a serving jug.
- Pour in the pomegranate juice, add ice and apple slices, and mix well.
