A few days back I wrote about tips for making New Years Resolutions (and sticking to them).

One of the top tips was to write your resolutions down to help keep you on track. So without further ado here are the New Years Resolutions for 2014 from An Essex Wife.

New Years Resolutions From An Essex Wife for 2014

1. Write More Letters – There is something magical about receiving handwritten post.  This year, armed with my new address book, I plan to write more letters and cards to my nearest and dearest. For no other reason than just to brighten their day.

2. Return To Being A Size 10 – Predicable yes, but not without purpose. I turn 30 this year. A girls weekend in Ibiza has been booked, this is all the motivation I need to get bikini ready.

3. Make More Effort In My Appearance – I need to ditch the ‘mum uniforn’ and rediscover my style. I am planning on making a small change everyday, a little sparkle here or a cute accessory there, and over time I hope this will make me fell like, well, ‘me’ again.  You can join in with this one alongside me thanks to our new #NYNYStyleChallege

4. Learn To Take Better Photos – Not for profit, not for awards, just for me and my memories. I love the photos I take already but it would be great to pick up some more tips along the way to help take the camera off of auto once in a while.

5. Have One Day or Night Out With My Husband A Month – We have agreed that we will take it in turns each month to arrange a ‘date’. After 6 years and two children it can be easy to forget that you existed pre-parenthood.  Just a few hours a month together without the children can really make a difference. It’s my turn first in January and I am very excited to start planning.
