A room full of woman, a handful a men, good food, great conversation and a truck load of inspiration.
Ladies and gentlemen I give you……The Mad Blog Awards 2013.
People often ask me why I blog. It started out of boredom and curiosity, quickly turning into a hobby and then a passion. It has taken on some unbelievable adventures and introduced me to people who have made me a better person just by having the honor of shaking their hand.
As a group we have shared the highs of birth, marriage and book deals and supported each other through job losses, divorce and the unshakable sadness of losing loved ones.
As a group we are unstoppable. As a group we are unbeatable. As a group we are unbelievable.
This was summed up by one simple phrase on Friday night;
‘Look what love can do……Look what love has done’
In their darkest hours, against the biggest fights, and in the face of undoubtable pain and suffering, these 10 amazing ladies have used their voices to make the world a better place.
It was an honor to just share a room with them.
Post dinner we were treated to one hell of a party. Think Dr Ranji on a surf board, free bar and Annie with her tights on her head!
That’s the other thing us bloggers can do…..DRINK!
My evening ended by seeing the always glamorous Actually Mummy reappear at the party in an animal print onesie. I knew that was my cue to leave.
I cannot thank Sally enough for letting me come and help out at the event. I spent the evening catching up with old friends and putting new faces to names. I left feeling proud, inspired and little bit drunk.
The MAD Blog Awards 2013……A rip-roaring success.
