I’m always up for trying a new hobby (if you try enough one will stick, right?) so when growingupmilkinfo.com invited me to an afternoon of craft and cake at Sew Over It in Clapham there was only ever going to be one answer.

Hell Yes!!!

Sew Over It, Clapham

This quirky craft cafe, set up by Lisa to help get London sewing again, is a girly paradise. I wanted to move in and surround myself with buttons forever more. Plus there is cake. Lots and lots of cake. Seriously…Best. Place. Ever.

Sew Over It, ClaphamWe were given an hour and a half class by Lisa herself. She is such a lovely lady, the kind you instantly want to be friends with. Ridiculously talented, so much so Kirstie Alsopp requested Lisa personally for her new show, and a very astute business woman who was shortlisted as one of Red Magazine ‘Woman To Watch’ for all she has done with Sew Over It.Sew Over It, Clapham

Chatting over our sewing machines, it was clear to see the vintage and craft revival is still in full swing. Sew Over It offers over 30 different sewing classes, such as 1940′s dress making and how to make the ultimate trousers,   alongside their hourly paid sewing cafe. I just wish it was closer to home.

I was very pleased with my final creation, as was Scarlett who commandeered this owl tote bag as hers for recorder club at school, and I am truly inspired to start sewing more at home.

Huge thanks to growingupmilkinfo.com for inviting me, cannot wait to start work as an GUM ambassador. And Lisa and the rest of the Sew Over It team….same time next week yes?
