We were asked last week to take part in a little challenge by Marks and Spencer. The M&S Matching Fashionistas Challenge was our chance to choose from one of the four key M&S trends this winter (Very Berry, Winter Whites, Dark Drama and Heritage) and pick two complimenting outfits, one for me and one for S.
Now I make no secret of my love for M&S, I have been blogging recently about their amazing Stocking Fillers and Magic Santa Keys, so this was the perfect thing for us to get involved with. It was also a great way to try out a new look in preparation for mine and Modern Mummy’s New Year New You Style Project.
M&S Matching Fashionistas Challenge
After much deliberation, Dark Drama came out as our final choice.
Draw inspiration from the sultry undertones of film noir heroines and that sleek, structured feel to dressing for evening.
Vintage-style touches, such as metallics, gold embroidery and sequins, will give your wardrobe a luxurious edge that works beautifully with classic pieces like shift dresses, black leggings and slim knits. Think texured fabrics, such as lace, velvet and faux fur in a rich, deep palette of burgundy, black and subtle metallics. Dresses are ultra-flattering hourglass shapes, while coats are belted at the waist.
For me I picked the M&S Collection Cornelli Neckline Dress as I loved its simple style but beautiful neckline detail, and S opted for a Autograph Bead Embellished Velvet Dress which took me back to my childhood the moment I saw it.
These dresses will have a very special first outing, for they are to be our Christmas day dresses. What bigger honor is there to bestow upon and outfit than to wear it Christmas day? I am very excited to show them off. Roll on December 25th.
To take part in the M&S Matching Fashionistas Challenge we were sent these dresses as a gift, however all views expressed are our own.
What a brilliant challenge and your dresses look lovely! x
