I love where I live. The Essex Husband and I have worked extremely hard to be able to buy a nice house in a nice area and I am very proud of what we have achieved.

Village life isn’t for everyone, at times I miss the hustle and bustle of London, but that’s a small price to for a tight-knit community and for my daughters going to a village school with only 10 children in each year group.

What’s also great about living out in the sticks is the sense of community you feel.  Our neighbours have become some of our very best friends. The kind of friends that I know, no matter where I am living, I will still be sending Christmas cards to when I’m 90.  We share childcare, dinner parties and our DIY skills with each other.  We work together to make our little part of the world a better place.

That’s why B&Q street club sounded like such a great idea to me.
