This Essex family, well actually just 3/4 of it as we are leaving The Essex Husband at home, are off to New York in January.

To say I’m excited would be the understatement of the century. It is all I can think about, all I want to talk about and providing me with more blog material than I could have ever asked for. Not only will this be the first transatlantic trip for either of my little ladies, I will also be reunited with one of my dearest friends who has been living in New Jersey for the past year with her lovely little family.

I’m no stranger to having loved ones on the other side of the world. My Father has lived either full-time or part-time in America since I was six, but that doesn’t make it any easier to deal with. The thought of stepping off the plane and seeing their faces, ones I have missed for so long, fills me with spine-tingling joy. We have many stories to share, ones that email just can’t do justice, and to see all our daughters in the same room, something that hasn’t happened since our youngest were babies, will be amazing.

Tina and I have seen each other through break-ups, house moves, job changes, weddings, babies and so much more. To also be able to share these American adventures with her is just too exciting to put into words.

We are all about adventures here in this Essex family, and I think this is set to be our biggest one to date.
