While staying at Kesgarve Hall last weekend we decided to take a day trip to the wonderful Jimmy’s Farm.

Opened in 2002 by Jimmy Docherty, and home to the Essex Pigs Rare Breeds Company, this Suffolk farm has been a real labour of love; a notion that really shines through in all that Jimmy’s Farm do.

They have a fantastic restaurant, field kitchen, farm shop, butchery, herb garden and Joules shop you can visit for free. All set in such beautiful surroundings. This may be a working farm, but is a pretty one.

If you would like to visit the nature trail, woodland walks, butterfly house and petting farm at Jimmy’s Farm then a small price is charged (£3.50pp).

We had a wonderful walk through the woods. I loved how each section was labeled to show which trees were growing there, and the den building area was a huge hit!

Unfortunately due to the time of year we visited the butterfly house was closed, but this was more than made up for by the free fishing lesson we were given at the lake. How brave is my big girl??

All the animals were so friendly, are clearly well-loved, the girls were in their element petting and feeding them. Such outdoor, nature loving, children I’m raising.

Jimmy's Farm

Jimmy’s Farm is one of our favorite family days out, we’ve been about ten times now. It’s a little bit of a journey for us but is always well worth the traveling. I love how comfortable it feels there, like Jimmy and his family are welcoming us into their home.

And there are always goodies to take away with you from the farm shop to enjoy at home, it doesn’t get better than that.

We love a trip too Jimmy’s Farm too. It’s so true that it feels really welcome, like you’re just being welcomed into their home. They do some great events up there too. We went to their Sausage and Beer festival in the summer and it was FANTASTIC with live music and loads different foods and drinks to try. It felt a bit like a festival, we loved it. x

We went to the sausage and beer festival a few years back – was Robs birthday so we made him get up on stage to help make sausages

What gorgeous grounds and obviously lots to see and do while you are there! I love the idea of labeling the trees and building your own den. Thanks for linking up and sharing your farm fun with Country Kids.
